Our Anchorage at Cala Jóncols
We woke up wanting to get an early start and got underway at 0635, which was about 30 minutes later than we planned. Brian freed the stern lines, and I started out of the slip turning to starboard to make our way out of the marina. As I steered right, Anna went left, so I started using the bow thrusters to avoid hitting the boats across the slip from me. Once in the clear, I realized that the steering hydraulic lines that were replaced a few weeks ago were switched when installed. So we managed to tie up to the fuel dock on the port side to do the repairs. Luckily, we got it all sorted out in under an hour and were on our way again.
The trip was non-eventful which is the best voyage to have. All systems worked as they should and the steering seemed to be fixed. I plotted a course to just south of Cadaques which is where wanted to be given the next day would be straight across to La Madrague, France.
We found a quite spot at Cala Jóncols and dropped anchor. At midnight I got an alarm that the inverter stopped which meant the refrigerator and our computer controls were dark. I checked the battery and realized that the new cameras I installed earlier this year pulled too many amps for normal anchoring out when we rely 100% on our batteries. So I started the generator to charge the batteries and went back to bed. I figure out a solution tomorrow.
All in all a great day!
