We decided to get around the corner of the Greek mainland on the way to the Gulf of Corinth. The weather was not so nice to us this day as the winds were 20 knots with heavier gusts from time to time. And while we were getting some following seas or starboard seas, it still pushed us around a lot so we did not make very good time.

We picked a nice place just before the entrance to the Gulf at place called St. John’s Bay. There we had a great anchorage in a large area with a few other sailboats. However they were tied up with both a bow and stern anchors which indicated that they were expecting heavy winds overnight. The weather had calmed down considerable and our weather forecast did not show anything unusual so we stayed with about 30 meters of chain out to keep Anna steady. As it turned out, the weather over night was fine.

We swam a bit and wanted to use the SCUBA hookah but remembered that our batteries were not working 100% so just swam around. The water was nice. We had some of the pizza we bought in Saranda and turned in early to make it through to the Gulf of Corinth where we planned on anchoring out right at the northern entrance of the Corinth Canal and go through the next morning.
